What You Will Do:
Support projects as a security-conscious DevSecOps Engineer to support the deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) / machine learning (ML) models using tools such as Docker, GitHub, Jenkins, OpenShift, and others to perform continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), container orchestration, and infrastructure automation, while integrating security measures.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for ML model deployment using Jenkins and GitHub.
- Containerize ML models using Docker and manage deployments on OpenShift.
- Integrate security checks and compliance validation into CI/CD workflows.
- Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to understand model requirements and deployment constraints.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Monitor and troubleshoot deployment environments to ensure reliability and performance.
- Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions for deployed ML services.
- Maintain documentation for deployment processes, configurations, and security protocols.
- Identify opportunities for AI integration and advancement and drive innovation for our clients.
- Ensure AI/ML deployments adhere to commercial and public sector guidelines, policies and standards, delivering responsible use of AI.
- Document processes and configurations clearly and thoroughly.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI/ML deployment technologies and apply them to our business needs, creating strategy and implementation roadmaps as needed.
- Develop trusted relationships with clients at all levels of the organization to obtain a more complete perspective and understanding of our clients’ mission, challenges, and goals to deliver tailored solutions.
- Support business development efforts (e.g., responding to RFPs/RFIs, developing white papers, creating pitch decks and capability briefings, etc.).
What You Will Need:
- An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "TOP SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- Minimum FOUR (4) years of relevant professional experience in AI/ML, DevSecOps, data engineering, or software development/engineering.
- Solid understanding of DevSecOps principles, including integrating security into CI/CD workflows for AI/ML models.
- Experience with Docker for containerizing ML models and managing container lifecycles, including building Docker images.
- Experience with Jenkins for building and automating CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience utilizing GitHub for version control, branching strategies, and CI/CD pipeline integration.
- Experience in OpenShift for deploying and managing containerized applications in a Kubernetes-based environment.
- Ability to work with ML engineers to understand model requirements and deployment constraints.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud deployments, including cloud security (e.g., Managed Identities)
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code.
- Knowledge of Function Apps.
- Understanding of agile principles and methodology.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to discuss technical topics with technical leaders and business topics with non-technical leaders.
- Ability to think strategically and drive innovation.
- Ability to work on remote, hybrid, or on-site projects in the DC metro area as client/contractual needs dictate.
What Would Be Nice To Have:
- Master's degree in a relevant technical field.
- SIX (6) years of relevant professional experience in AI, machine learning, DevSecOps, data engineering, or software development/engineering.
- Experience working with Virtual Machines and configuring them to be scalable, Azure Blob Storage, working with Desired State Configurations.
- Knowledge PowerShell and command-line scripting.
- Experience supporting Federal organizations as either an employee or consultant.
- Experience deploying ML models in production environments with model versioning and rollback strategies.
- Familiarity with ML model serving frameworks like MLflow, Seldon, or TensorFlow Serving.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Familiarity with Linux-based systems and shell scripting.
- Knowledge of network security, including firewalls, VPNs, and secure communication protocols.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Experience with security compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2).
- Exposure to automated testing frameworks for infrastructure and security validation.
- Understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) as they relate to ML deployments.
- Experience supporting Federal Government organizations.
