What You Will Do

Guidehouseislooking for an experiencedprofessionalwith experience inbuilding,managing,and controlling thesecureconfigurationsofinformationsystems for federalorganizations.Your duties will include managingand controllingsecure configurationsofover 200 information systems for a federal client with acritical andhigh-profile missionin accordance withNIST 800-128 guidanceand applicable federal and organizational policiesto enable security andfacilitatethe management of risk.You will use Security-Focused Configuration Management (SecCM)to build on thegeneral concepts, processes, and activities of configuration management by attention on the implementation and maintenance of the established security requirements of the organization and systems.You will ensureinformation security configuration management requirements are integrated into (or complement) existing organizational configuration management processes (e.g., business functions, applications, products) and information systems.AdditionalSecCMduties and activitiesinclude:

  • Identification and recording of configurations thatimpactthe security posture of the system and the organization.

  • The consideration of security risks in approving theinitialconfiguration.

  • The analysis of security implications of changes to the system configuration.

  • Documentation of the approved/implemented changes.

  • Qualitative and quantitative research to support work assignments for meeting the deliverableobjective.

  • Qualitative and quantitative analyses for assigned tasks.

  • Compilation ofresearch, findings, and other information into written formats such as white papers, reports, presentations, and other forms of technical documentation .

  • Participationin policy development for configuration management.

  • Configuration management planning and management.

  • Configuration identification.

  • Configuration management and IT security audits.

What You Will Need:

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED SECRET federal security clearance.

  • Must be US Citizen.

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Minimum of Three (3) yearsmanaging large security projects (cost, schedule, and performance).  

  • Experience with Security Configuration Management, STIG DoD compliance, Vulnerability.

  • Experience with documentation of Configuration Management plan/Change Management from Security Prospective.

  • The ability to obtain aDOD 8570 Level 1certification within 6 months of employment, if not already obtained.


What Would Be NiceToHave

  • CurrentDOD 8570 Level 1or equivalentcertification.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Cyber Security Preferred.

  • Broad knowledge of cybersecurity threats.  

  • Broad knowledge of information system technologies.  

  • Experience developing security policy.  

  • Experience with online research techniques.
