What You Will Do:
In this role, you will serve as a Senior Data Management and Platform Specialist providing enterprise-level expertise to a federal agency’s data and analytics organization. You will lead and support the implementation of data management, governance, discovery, and automation capabilities within enterprise data platforms. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will translate complex, cross-cutting initiatives into actionable quarterly objectives and sprint-level deliverables across multiple platform teams.
You will partner closely with technical delivery teams, data stewards, and business stakeholders to embed data management and governance practices directly into platform workflows and DevSecOps processes, rather than as standalone policy efforts. You’ll play a key role in shaping agency-wide data infrastructure by creating advanced guidance, tools, and templates, and partnering with teams to deliver these solutions. In this capacity, you’ll help build organizational capability through coaching and mentoring team members, ensuring best practices are embedded across platforms and processes. You will also provide capacity-building support, create learning resources, and help institutionalize best practices to strengthen data governance and enhance the strategic use of data across the enterprise.
What You Will Need:
An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance
Bachelor’s degree
FIVE (5) years of experience working on or supporting agile delivery teams (Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid)
Demonstrated experience translating large, complex initiatives into executable quarterly and sprint-level work
Hands-on experience working with enterprise data platforms (beyond a single tool or application)
Working knowledge of data management and data governance principles, including how they are operationalized within platforms
Experience working in or alongside DevOps delivery environments
What Would Be Nice To Have:
Prior experience supporting or working within the U.S. Department of State
Experience working with interagency stakeholders and enterprise-level programs.
Experience with enterprise road mapping and scaled agile approaches
Familiarity with data cataloging and metadata management tools
Experience with Master Reference Data (MRD) and reference data management concepts.
Experience with enterprise data platforms and tools like Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Synapse, Databricks, Unity Catalog, and Palantir Foundry or similar.
Background serving in an proxy product role for data or platform teams
Advanced degree or certification in a related field
Strong ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Demonstrated experience advising clients or leading data management and platform activities in a professional setting
Strong written and oral communication skills: ability to brief senior federal clients, write clearly, and present technical content
Proven ability to manage tasks independently, meet deadlines, and deliver polished work
Experience working in a consulting or client-facing environment
