What You Will Do:
We are currently searching for Molecular and Cellular Biological Scientist to support research on the cellular mechanisms related to substance abuse and HIV biology. This is a full-time onsite position supporting the NIH office in Baltimore, MD.
Become familiar with techniques to measure proteins and nucleic acids both in cells and tissue. Understand techniques such as sectioning brains, process tissue using immunohistochemistry and/or in-situ hybridization techniques, analyze tissue and perform cell counts using image analysis software. Dissect brain tissue and isolate genomic DNA, RNA or protein and analyze by qPCR methods (DNA/RNA) or western blot (protein).
Maintain clear and accurate records of laboratory work in defined notebooks and convert those records to electronic records as appropriate.
Collect and analyze data; organize spreadsheets; prepare graphs, reports, summaries, and illustrations for use and tracking of protocol activity.
Record research findings daily using a digitized method.
Develop and maintain liaisons and effective working relations with groups and individuals, agencies, and the public to encourage cooperative management strategies or to develop information and interpret findings.
Collect and analyze biological data about relationships among and between organisms and their environment.
Monitor and observe experiments, recording production and test data for evaluation by research personnel.
Analyze experimental data and interpret results to write reports and summaries of findings.
Coordinate the work of biological technicians and technologists and other scientists.
Operate, calibrate, or maintain equipment used in quantitative or qualitative analysis, such as spectrophotometers, calorimeters, flame photometers, or computer-controlled analyzers.
Maintain laboratory equipment.
Operate laboratory equipment to analyze samples.
Analyze laboratory findings.
Program and use computers to store, process, and analyze data.
Interpret research or operational data.
Record research or operational data.

What You Will Need:
Master’s Degree
A minimum of TWO (2) years of experience in Scientific Research, Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, and/or related science experience.
Excellent oral and written skills.
Experience in PCR related technology.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
What Would Be Nice To Have:
Previous experience with the National Institute of Health (NIH).
