What You Will Do:

  • You will join our EME PS team to become one of our outstanding Managing Consultants, who will help us with implementing and progressively manage exciting projects around transformation of the buildings sector towards climate neutrality and sustainability. This will only happen successfully, when technology, society and economy transform in a way that ultimately respects environmental limits.
  • To meet this complex challenge, consultants with different backgrounds (e.g. engineers, natural, political and social scientists as well as economists) are working together across disciplines. The combination of their technical competence with policy and economy related as well as legal and planning relevant aspects allows the development of well balanced and cost-effective solutions.
  • You will truly enjoy your new role, when you e.g. have fun in getting an expert in data gathering and analysis, performing complex calculations & simulations, or in gaining experience in policy analysis and design and translating findings into meaningful technical and policy recommendations, report writing and presenting your findings to our clients.
  • In this role you will have lots of opportunity to learn, be challenged and develop your skills at a fast pace. In addition to hands-on experience, formal training programs in our very own Guidehouse Learning platform will teach you the diverse skills you need to succeed.

What You Will Need:

  • You have a University or University of Applied Sciences degree related to natural sciences, engineering (e.g. industrial engineering, environmental engineering, physics, renewable energy, technical building systems, economics with focus on technology …. ) or political science. With your academic results you were amongst the best performers.

  • 5 - 7 years of relevant professional experience (incl. internships) in the field of energy and/or climate analysis.

  • You are passionate about climate action, with particular interest in decarbonizing the building and heating sector within its complex societal, political, technological and environmental context, including interaction with other sectors

  • You are interested to expand your knowledge and capabilities in area of district heat/ heat networks as a potential focus area

  • You have strong analytical and conceptual skills

  • You are a strong communicator and have networking skills.

  • You show a high degree of flexibility and are willing to travel occasionally for work, incl. outside Europe (e.g., to the MENA region or US).

  • Fluent in German language written and spoken (at least C1 and willing to improve).

  • Fluent in English language written and spoken.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

Ideally, you have already some experiences in one of the following areas:

  • Energy calculation/simulation of buildings (e.g. TRNSYS, EnergyPlus),

  • R programming or advanced skills in Microsoft Excel,

  • Heat network analysis or policies;

  • Sector-coupling, heat pumps, EVs and energy system integration buildings including hydrogen

  • Life-cycle assessment methods and tools,

  • Deeper insights into national and international policy cycles.
