What You Will Do:

Position Summary: Assists the Associate Director of Shared Services with accounting functions to include but not limited to: Producing financial and statistical reporting, analyzing financial data for material variances, reconciling financial accounts, creating and posting Journal Entries independently.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Gathers data, prepares and analyzes routine financial reports for internal client purposes and third-party agencies.
  • Communicates with departmental users and third-party agencies regarding applicable accounts.
  • Prepares periodic deposits, billings and transfer of funds in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Performs monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
  • Prepares and enter General Ledger entry into accounting software.
  • Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
  • Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.


What You Will Need:

  • 3 years of direct work experience in an accounting or finance related setting. (Relevant experience may be substituted for formal education)
  • Associates degree in accounting or finance.
  • Must be located within 50 miles of Birmingham, AL

  • Broad knowledge of major operating systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
