What You Will Do:

Guidehouse’s Capital Projects & Infrastructure team is seeking experienced professionals with a strong background in the nuclear sector – particularly those who have led or managed complex nuclear infrastructure projects. This may include experience in nuclear power generation, advanced reactor development, permitting and licensing, asset management, system planning, stakeholder engagement, operations, or other roles in the nuclear sector. We are seeking candidates who are looking to apply their technical expertise to address complex challenges that enable infrastructure strategy and execution.

A strong candidate should demonstrate leadership in nuclear project delivery, operations, or strategy, with a proven record of success managing multidisciplinary teams and navigating complex regulatory environments. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to lead client engagements and internal teams. You should be passionate about infrastructure innovation, capable of mentoring junior staff, and committed to delivering high-impact solutions.

Specifically, this individual should have a proven successful record of having led one or more of the following areas:

  • Nuclear infrastructure development, e.g. advanced reactor siting, permitting, licensing, and stakeholder coordination
  • Supply chain strategy or nuclear waste disposal planning, particularly for advanced nuclear technologies
  • Operational strategy and asset management, e.g. system planning, lifecycle cost analysis, reliability engineering, and performance optimization at operating nuclear plants
  • Regulatory strategy and engagement, e.g. NRC licensing, environmental permitting, and coordination with federal and state agencies
  • Design, planning, or siting of advanced reactors, including but not limited to Gen III+ SMRs or other advanced reactor technologies
  • Evaluation or planning for nuclear restarts, including feasibility, regulatory, and stakeholder considerations
  • Experience coordinating nuclear power offtake or interconnection, e.g. developing or negotiating agreements with utilities or hyperscalers
  • Risk management and strategic planning, e.g. identifying delivery risks, modeling scenarios, and supporting investment decisions
  • Stakeholder engagement, e.g. working with utilities, regulators, community groups, and technology developers
  • Contract development and management, e.g. procurement strategy, scope control, and commercial terms

Candidates should have interest and aptitude for helping client agencies to solve real-world business challenges.

What You Will Need:

  • Minimum Years of Experience: FIVE (5+)
  • Experience leading client relationships, project teams, and internal staff
  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Engineering, regulatory, or technical expertise in nuclear infrastructure development or operations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including client presentations and stakeholder engagement
  • Ability and willingness to travel 50% or more, depending on client needs and project location
  • The successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer (such as a non-compete) that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as described
  • Due to nature of client engagements, US Citizenship restrictions may apply

What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Master’s Degree (MBA, MS, MPP, MPA, etc.)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Experience with NRC licensing processes or DOE-funded nuclear initiatives
  • Experience with permitting and environmental review for nuclear or energy infrastructure
  • Experience coordinating with utilities on nuclear power offtake or interconnection
  • Experience in asset management, system planning, or reliability engineering at operating nuclear facilities
  • Experience with nuclear waste disposal strategy or supply chain planning for advanced reactors
  • Experience with advanced reactor design (e.g. Gen III+ SMR), siting, or planning
  • Experience evaluating or planning nuclear restarts
  • Experience leveraging AI or large language models (LLMs) in the context of infrastructure planning or delivery, e.g., using AI tools for risk modeling, document automation, or regulatory analysis

The annual salary range for this position is $113,000.00-$188,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
