What You Will Do:

Role Overview:
The L1 Investigator handles escalated alerts and conducts in-depth investigations to determine potential suspicious activity and recommend regulatory reporting actions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed investigations on escalated alerts from L1 analysts
  • Analyze complex transaction patterns, blockchain flows, and customer profiles
  • Utilize blockchain analytics tools (e.g., Chainalysis Reactor) to trace funds
  • Identify and document suspicious activity and recommend SAR filings
  • Prepare high-quality investigative case narratives and reports
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Compliance, Legal, FIU)
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies


What You Will Need:

  • 1+ years of AML investigations experience (preferably in crypto or fintech)
  • Strong understanding of blockchain technology and crypto typologies
  • Experience with SAR writing and regulatory reporting
  • Hands-on experience with blockchain analytics tools (Chainalysis, TRM, Elliptic)
  • Excellent written and analytical skills
  • Ability to handle complex cases independently


What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • CAMS or equivalent certification
  • Experience working with US regulatory frameworks (BSA, FinCEN, OFAC)
  • Prior experience in crypto exchanges, fintech, or digital assets space
