To consistently bring highest value to our clients, we work in a uniquely collaborative model integrating insights from our industry, sustainability, and policy and regulation teams.

We are looking for a commercially focused Director to join us and contribute to business growth as part of our International Energy Providers team. You will be leading on client relationships, accounts, offerings and services while building on our deep heritage in the energy sector and expanding our team of experts.

At Guidehouse you will be empowered to build business and a team, working closely with market and segment leadership. Joining as a Director your priority will be identifying and capturing growth opportunities across commercial energy, utilities, and infrastructure clients. Bringing a growth mindset, and the vision to attract and scale a talented team of expert consultants is essential, while also identifying collaboration and cross practice opportunities to bring a suite of Guidehouse capabilities to client portfolios.

What You Will Do:

We are looking for someone to join our International Energy Providers team in Cologne as a Director.

Your work will focus on strategy, business and technology transformation engagements supporting commercial energy, utilities, and infrastructure clients as they facilitate and manage the energy transition in Germany.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Building and growing Guidehouse’s Energy Providers portfolio of business in Germany.

  • Working with local and international leadership to set and execute growth plans.

  • Engaging with clients and external stakeholders to understand key challenges and needs.

  • Defining compelling solutions and value propositions aligned with clients’ needs.

  • Leading all aspects of opportunity origination and pursuit.

  • Leading engagements and workstreams for large and complex projects.

  • Mentoring and managing local staff.

What You Will Need:

  • 12+ years of experience in strategy management consulting or a related field with a strong, professional network in Germany.

  • Experience of working with clients in the energy, power and utilities or infrastructure sector- Experience identifying, positioning and delivering strategic, business, or technology transformation engagements

  • Ability to think critically with a strong eye for detail and creative problem-solving.

  • Business case or proposal leadership experience including budget development, timeline management, and stakeholder engagement and input facilitation.

  • Strong communication and narrative development skills, with the ability to synthesis and convey key insights to a range of audiences.

  • Proven team leadership experience, with the ability to manage day-to-day delivery as well as support career development with coaching of team members.

  • Proven experience of collaborative working in and across diverse teams to develop solutions and execute plans.

  • A strong understanding of the commercial and operational considerations required when building and scaling consulting teams.

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Able to travel to client site locations within Germany.

  • Right to work in Germany.

  • Fluent German and English (written and spoken).
