What You Will Do:

Our Interns have the opportunity to be active in projects that contribute to the energy transition in Germany and Europe, gaining insight into the daily work of a consulting firm. The focus of this position is the support of our Energy Providers Team in Cologne, that works for utilities and network operators to decarbonise the European energy system, covering the fields of hydrogen, power and heat supply. You will work in a team on complex problems and deliver high-quality client-ready work.

Your core responsibilities will be:

  • Support consulting projects on current topics of the energy transition

  • Synthesise data into clear analyses and provide fact-based recommendations and solutions for drafting summary reports and presentations

  • Assist consultants in tasks such as preparing project outlines, short studies, evaluations, presentations etc.

  • Communication with different stakeholder groups and partners

  • Presentation of the outcomes within the project teams

  • If relevant, you can spent part of the time on own projects that we develop together with you, e.g., development of H2 demand tool

What You Will Need:

  • Enrolled in a relevant Bachelor's or Master's program (Energy Systems, (Industrial) Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Technology and Management, Renewable Energy, Economics, Political or Social Sciences, etc.)

  • The permission to work as intern in Germany

  • Available for min 3 months, ideally 6 months  

  • Fluent in German and English

What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • High interest and pre-existing knowledge in one of the following fields: energy economics, heat transition, industrial decarbonization, power system, sustainable transformation

  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, as well as confident communication and presentation skills

  • A team-player who demonstrates the willingness and ability to work effectively in diverse teams and collaborate with colleagues at all levels

  • Able to work on multiple assignments and show a good understanding of the project objectives and client expectations

  • Critical thinker, with a sense for important details and creative problem solving skills

  • Ideally first experience in the energy or consulting sector
