What You Will Do:

We are looking for a Bioinformatics Scientist to provide support services to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. This position is a full-time position located in Research Triangle Park, NC.

  • Conduct analysis and interpretation on data from genomic platforms including expression, exon, tiling, promoter, and other array types.

  • Conduct data analysis and interpretation on other large data types in a genomic context.

  • Establish and maintain workflows including experimental design, data quality analysis, genome and meta-genome integration.

  • Write utility scripts, macros, and custom programs or algorithms in support of biological discovery.

  • Conduct analyses on NextGen sequencing data (e.g., ChIP-Seq, RNA-Seq, miRNA-Seq).

  • Coordinate with biologists and bioinformaticians to design models that summarize and explain experimental data.

  • Provide interpretive analyses of data from various experimental platforms to generate biological insights.

  • Prepare reports and publication-quality graphics summarizing experimental results.

  • Participate in meetings with scientific teams and present findings to stakeholders.

What You Will Need:

  • Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computational Biology, or a biological/life science discipline.

  • A minimum of ONE (1) year of experience in bioinformatics, computational biology, or genomic data analysis.

  • Experience with next-generation sequencing data analysis, including RNA-Seq, single-cell RNA sequencing, and microarray analysis.

  • Proficiency in programming languages and tools such as R, Python, MATLAB, Java, and Unix/Linux environments.

  • Experience working with large datasets and performing statistical and computational analyses.

  • Knowledge of genomic workflows, pipeline development, and multi-omics analysis.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD “public trust”; candidates must receive approved adjudication prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an active public trust or suitability are preferred.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computational Biology, or a related biological or life science field.

  • Experience with methylation analysis, cluster analysis, and multi-omics data integration.

  • Experience preparing publication-quality research outputs and scientific visualizations
