What You Will Do:

  • Apply safety and occupational health laws, regulations and principles to advise management on technical matters regarding occupational safety and health issues.

  • Assist with safety and health training programs, communication, presentations, records management, project planning and data analysis. Draft safety and health communications, materials, and briefs for managers. Compile and prepare a variety of recurring reports as directed by supervisor.

  • Develop recommendations for remedial actions when safety policies are not met.

  • Inspect facilities and projects in order to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.

  • Complete and maintain documented safety observations from regular hazard identification audits.

  • Assists in planning/conducting safety and health inspections and surveys of the workplace to ensure compliance with EHS regulations.

  • Prepare or assist supervisors in preparing materials for safety meetings. Ensure preparation of graphs, charts, and other informational materials pertaining to accident trends and other aspects of the safety program.

  • Maintains inventory supply and prepares purchase requests.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Need:

  • US citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET federal security clearance.

  • 3+ years of applicable experience.

  • Knowledge and experience working with OSHA 1910, 1926, EM-385 ( Safety & Health requirements for the Army Corps of Engineers).

  • Ability to address additional regulatory requirements, interpretations, and technical issues that arise.


What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • An ACTIVE and CURRENT TOP SECRET federal security clearance

  • Associate Safety Professional, Safety Management Specialist, Graduate Safety Practitioner.

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental, Industrial Hygiene, Public Health or related field.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to lead individual projects as well as collaborate in contribution to team goals.

  • Ability to manage a heavy workload, to manage competing demands on time and resources, and to prioritize effectively.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and to manage projects to completion.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Teams, Outlook).
