What You Will Do:
- Assessing energy efficiency technologies through engineering analysis, energy modelling, and building simulation.
- Completing building energy modelling; intermediate to advanced experience with residential and/or commercial building simulation tools preferred (EnergyPlus, OpenStudio, BEopt, Trane TRACE, Carrier HAP).
- Experience in creating and using spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel for engineering and economic analysis and project/task management.
- Strong knowledge of building energy use characteristics, energy systems, HVAC systems as applicable for residential and commercial buildings.
- Strong communication skills and comfortable with interacting with clients based in the U.S.
- Developing and presenting reports, memos, and assist in presentations to deliver research findings to clients
What You Will Need:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an engineering, environmental science, and/or related discipline and experience with measurement and verification of energy savings projects, engineering analyses, and building energy modelling
- Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of relevant industry or consulting experience OR Master’s degree and 2+ years of relevant industry or consulting experience
- Strong preference for candidates with experience in EnergyPlus, BEopt, OpenStudio, Trane TRACE, Carrier HAP, and/or other building energy simulation tools
- Experience in analysis of energy savings for common energy efficiency measures for residential, commercial, or industrial sectors (such as lighting, HVAC, motors and drives, industrial processes, controls, weatherization, electrification, and/or custom measures). Preferred experience in multiple sectors.
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
- Proficiency with data analytics in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to manage significant portions of tasks while leading and collaborating with a close-knit team
- Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously, prioritize and plan work activities while meeting respective deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients based in the U.S.
- Strong interest in energy efficiency and sustainability
- An inquisitive nature and desire for continuous improvement
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work in second shift (2 pm to 11 pm).
What Would Be Nice To Have:
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint
- Experience with R, Python, or other programming languages
- Field experience collecting primary data, such as energy usage data, equipment operation data, or equipment characteristics for the purposes of building energy audits or energy savings analyses
- Excellent at visualizing data, synthesizing insights, and storytelling with data
- Experience training and mentoring junior staff
