What You Will Do:

The Associate Director role is a leadership position in the Financial Crime, Fraud and Investigations (FFI) team at Guidehouse. The successful candidate will be expected to assist in the development of Guidehouse's market presence, support the origination of new business opportunities, take responsibility for innovative client delivery and excel in thought leadership, whilst managing projects for client assignments.

The Associate Director will be passionate about combating fraud, bribery & corruption and work closely with Partners and Directors across FFI to successfully deliver work and grow our practice by providing innovative and effective solutions to clients in the Energy and Life Sciences sectors across the UK and EMEA.

What You Will Need:

  • 10+ Years consultancy experience from a relevant advisory firm (Big 4, mid-tier or similar consultancy firms).
  • A professional accounting qualification and significant experience in consultancy in Energy and Life Sciences sectors.  Candidates with strength in one sector and transferable skills to the other will also be considered. 
  • To be a critical thinker with a strong eye for detail and creative in problem solving. Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent writing skills and fluency in English including the ability to articulate complex and technical findings in both written and oral presentations for various stakeholders.
  • A proven track record of people leadership – demonstrated experience of managing teams and projects effectively with demanding stakeholders and multiple work streams.
  • To be a team-player who demonstrates the willingness and ability to work effectively in diverse teams and collaborate with colleagues at all levels.
  • To be able and willing to work a flexible schedule: both remotely AND in our London offices AND/OR clients' sites when needed.
  • The confidence and ability to communicate clearly and quickly to establish credibility with clients and colleagues.  Including collaborating with internal sector teams to leverage cross-functional expertise and deliver holistic consulting services to clients.

Business Development:

  • Good professional network.
  • Demonstrated sales skills including creating new ideas and business development initiatives and participating in sales pitches and conferences.

Technical:

Extensive experience in providing subject matter expertise in anti-fraud, anti-bribery & corruption and anti-tax evasion services (both risk management and investigations).

Significant technical knowledge of investigations and risk management processes and relevant legal and regulatory frameworks, with a demonstrated track record:

  • Developing market-leading and/or innovative solutions to clients’ risk management issues, such as enterprise-wide or business line risk assessments and gap assessments;
  • Managing complex investigations: including interviews; e-reviews, accounting analysis, internal control reviews (root cause analysis); and
  • Developing and delivering training programmes for clients' employees on detection, prevention and reporting mechanisms.

Experienced in scoping projects, especially in setting and maintaining budgets and developing new methodologies.

Strong knowledge of how technology can be used effectively in combating financial crime including new technology solutions.


What Would Be Nice To Have

  • CFE, ACFS or similar professional certifications
  • Understanding of data protection regulations
