What You Will Do
Guidehouse Business Analysts support the successful delivery of technology modernization and business transformation initiatives by serving as a bridge between stakeholders and technical teams. They work closely with clients to understand business needs, analyze processes, and translate requirements into actionable solutions. Business Analysts contribute to the design and delivery of solutions supporting financial management, budgeting, acquisition, and operational business processes while helping ensure project objectives are achieved effectively and efficiently.
Our Business Analysts are detail-oriented, collaborative, and proactive in identifying opportunities for process improvement. They contribute to project planning, requirements management, documentation, and solution delivery in a fast-paced Agile environment.
Responsibilities include the following:
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
- Support the analysis of current-state business processes and identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Assist in documenting financial, budgetary, operational, and acquisition-related business processes and workflows.
- Translate business needs into user stories, use cases, process flows, and other requirements documentation.
- Work closely with product owners, developers, testers, and project managers to support solution design and delivery.
- Participate in stakeholder meetings, workshops, and Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews.
- Assist in the development of training materials, user guides, and change management activities.
- Support testing activities, including requirements validation, user acceptance testing, and defect tracking.
- Maintain accurate and organized project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and meeting materials for project teams and stakeholders.
- Build strong working relationships with team members and clients while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Continuously seek opportunities to learn new technologies, tools, and business processes.
What You Will Need
- U.S. Citizenship or authorization to work in the United States with the ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust clearance.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum two (2) years of professional experience in business analysis, project support, or a related role.
- Experience gathering and documenting business requirements, user stories, and process flows.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Experience creating business process documentation using tools such as Visio, Draw.io, Lucidchart, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- General understanding of financial management, budgeting, acquisition, procurement, or operational business processes.
What Would Be Nice To Have
- Experience in a consulting or client-facing role.
- Experience supporting federal government programs, financial systems, budgeting, procurement, or acquisition activities.
- Familiarity with budget formulation, budget execution, financial management, or related business processes.
- Experience supporting digital transformation, modernization, or system implementation initiatives.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Familiarity with requirements management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity and/or experience working with low-code platforms, including Appian.
- Knowledge of business architecture, business process modeling, or enterprise process improvement methodologies.
