Head Start Data Engineer Senior Consultant

What You Will Do:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Lead and execute data engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high quality.
  • Build and optimize data architectures for operational and analytical purposes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and define data requirements.
  • Implement data quality, data governance, and data security practices.
  • Manage and optimize cloud-based data platforms ( Azure\AWS).
  • Develop and maintain Python libraries for data ingestion, Processing and integration with both internal and external data sources.
  • Design and optimize scalable data pipelines from infrastructure, e.g., using AWS CloudFormation
  • Develop frameworks for data ingestion, transformation, and validation.
  • Mentor junior data engineers and guide best practices in data engineering.
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies and tools to improve data infrastructure.


What You Will Need:

  • Minimum THREE (3) years of experience
  • US Citizenship is contractually required for this role
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Economics, or similar quantitative discipline
  • 2 years direct experience with data engineering support to the Office of Head Start
  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of prior relevant experience (relevant experience may be substituted for formal education or advanced degree)
  • 3 years of experience with analytics development including Python
  • Experience managing data product development at enterprise scale, including on cloud platforms AWS and Azure, using GenAI resources from, e.g., from Azure OpenAI
  • Experience working with code repositories and continuous integration (i.e. Git, Jenkins, etc.)
  • 3+ years of database experience, including SQL and noSQL


What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Experience advising/briefing senior executives
  • Experience visually communicating data analysis visually, including bespoke analyses and BI Tools such as Power BI or Amazon QuickSight
  • Education:  M.S./M.A. in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Economics, or similar quantitative discipline. 

The annual salary range for this position is $85,000.00-$141,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
