What You Will Do:

To further the Department of Veterans Affairs’ mission and advance Veteran health, Guidehouse offers a powerful combination of innovative digital and data transformation, commercial healthcare, and public sector health expertise that align to VA’s unique short- and long-term strategic goals for overall care excellence and delivery improvements. This includes implementation and transformation of VA’s Integrated Veterans Care network as well as innovations to increase access to care for Veterans.Guidehouse also aids in theparadigm shift in Veterans care from problem-based disease care to whole health through design of learning innovations and change management.

The Guidehouse Internship Program staffs interns on real world projects, showcasing the Guidehouse culture, and providing them with a meaningful consulting experience. Interns work with teams and provide real time deliverables in support of the clients. Each Intern is paired with a Buddy to serve as a resource that can assist them in navigating their Guidehouse experience.

Highlights of our Internship Program include:

  • 10-week experience in Summer 2025 (Anticipated to start Monday, June 2 and run until Friday, August 8)

  • Learning & Development Sessions (both E-learning & Instructor Lead)

  • Mid-Point and Final Evaluations 

  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Intern Event

  • Networking & Social Activities and Events

  • Intern Speaker Series

  • Collaborative Group Projects

Our Interns help our clients improve their business processes, internal controls, operating efficiency, transparency and performance management, and ability to comply with federal laws and regulations. During your assignment, you will be given the opportunity to support projects to address some of the most significant project challenges faced by federal clients. Guidehouse projects are extremely fluid and require self-motivated individuals willing to develop solutions on their own or in a team of highly skilled professionals. Project members are provided the opportunity to interact with our clients' senior management and enhance their skills in the areas of technical competency, business development, client service and people development.

Throughout the internship, you will have the chance to work with our internal teams on the assigned project/contract, meet with upper management to reflect on your personal and professional development, and socialize with your fellow interns during outings/activities.

As an Intern, you will work with an experienced team to support the development of client deliverables, internal and client presentations, day-to-day project logistics, and any additional project tasks. This position provides individuals the opportunity to serve clients across a wide variety of functions including strategy, process improvement, analytics, accounting, information technology, communications, and project management.

What You Will Need:

  • Minimum Years of Experience: 0 years 

  • Degree Status: Bachelor's Degree (Must still be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program through Fall 2025 and graduate by Summer 2026)

  • Ability to obtain a US Government Security Clearance: individual may be submitted for clearance specific to client post-offer 


What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • BA, BS, MPH, MHA, MBA, PhD or MS-BA in the following degree concentrations are preferred: Communications, Public/Health Policy, Business, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, Management/Information Systems, or other related STEM majors is preferred

  • Knowledge and understanding of project management principles and the phases of project management (Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring, Closure)

  • Experience planning and executing projects of varying degrees of complexity, preferably projects that involve serving a client and engaging directly with the client throughout project performance

  • Experience working in teams to produce high-impact work products, reports, and other deliverables in a fast-paced environment

  • Possesses strong oral and written communication skills

  • Heightened attention to detail, and the ability to create and edit technical and non-technical written work products and graphical presentations

  • Ability to view problems from multiple angles and apply a variety of solutions to solving them

  • Ability to participate in client-facing discussions and meetings

  • Ability to synthesize information quickly and learn new skills

  • Desire to support public sector clients with a focused mission on Healthcare

  • Passionate about reinvesting in the company you work for and representing the company’s brand

As part of the interview process for this opportunity, candidates will be asked to complete an industry-specific case study. The case study will be a presentation the prompt for which will be provided 48 hours in advance of the scheduled interview.

The annual salary range for this position is $59,900.00-$89,900.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
