What You Will Do:

Guidehouse IT Project Managers lead the delivery of complex enterprise technology solutions and modernization initiatives. They serve as the accountable delivery lead for software implementations, platform deployments, system modernization efforts, and digital transformation programs. Successful candidates combine strong project management expertise with a deep understanding of technology service delivery, software development, Agile execution, enterprise architecture, and platform implementation.

Our IT Project Managers own end-to-end delivery outcomes and are responsible for ensuring projects are executed successfully across planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and transition to operations. They are trusted advisors to clients, leaders of multidisciplinary technical teams, and drivers of successful project execution.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of enterprise software implementation and technology modernization projects.
  • Provide leadership to cross-functional teams consisting of developers, solution architects, business analysts, quality assurance personnel, trainers, and infrastructure resources.
  • Serve as the accountable delivery lead and primary point of contact for client stakeholders.
  • Own project scope, schedule, budget, resource planning, quality, and delivery outcomes.
  • Drive execution across requirements, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and operational transition activities.
  • Establish project delivery strategies, implementation approaches, governance structures, and execution plans.
  • Lead Agile delivery activities and ensure effective execution of sprint planning, backlog management, release planning, and delivery milestones.
  • Manage technical risks, issues, dependencies, change requests, and delivery challenges while developing and executing mitigation strategies.
  • Evaluate technical tradeoffs, implementation approaches, delivery risks, and project impacts in partnership with architecture and development teams.
  • Ensure technical solutions align with business objectives, security requirements, compliance requirements, and operational needs.
  • Hold project teams accountable for delivery commitments, quality standards, technical execution, and milestone achievement.
  • Own delivery readiness and drive successful completion of testing, release management, deployment, and production cutover activities.
  • Monitor project performance through delivery metrics, quality indicators, schedule performance, resource utilization, and project health assessments.
  • Develop and deliver executive-level reporting, project dashboards, governance materials, and status briefings.
  • Build strong relationships with clients while serving as a trusted advisor to leadership and project stakeholders.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing technical teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

What You Will Need:

  • U.S. Citizenship or authorization to work in the United States with the ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum eight (8) years of experience leading enterprise technology projects, software implementations, or system modernization initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technology service delivery teams and enterprise software implementation projects.
  • Experience leading cross-functional technical teams through the full software development lifecycle.
  • Experience owning delivery of enterprise software implementations from requirements through production deployment.
  • Experience leading software development, system implementation, systems integration, testing, deployment, and transition-to-operations activities.
  • Experience delivering projects using Agile methodologies and modern software delivery practices.
  • Experience managing project schedules, delivery roadmaps, technical dependencies, resource plans, and critical milestones.
  • Experience managing project risks, issues, change requests, and technology delivery challenges.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, software development methodologies, technology service delivery, enterprise applications, cloud-based solutions, systems integration, software testing, release management, and production support practices.
  • Experience working directly with software developers, architects, technical leads, and quality assurance teams to deliver enterprise technology solutions.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts, architecture decisions, implementation risks, and system dependencies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience developing executive communications, project status reporting, governance materials, and stakeholder briefings.
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships, executive stakeholders, and multidisciplinary technical teams.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, facilitation, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience utilizing Jira, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project, Confluence, or similar project and delivery management platforms.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Experience supporting federal government technology modernization initiatives.
  • Experience delivering SaaS, cloud, low-code, or platform-based solutions.
  • Experience managing Appian implementations or other low-code application development projects.
  • Experience supporting financial management, budgeting, procurement, acquisition, or workflow automation solutions.
  • Experience supporting Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) processes or related financial management environments.
  • Experience with DevSecOps, automated testing, release management, and operational transition practices.
  • Experience managing complex enterprise platform implementations involving systems integration, data migration, environment management, and release planning.
  • Familiarity with FedRAMP, cybersecurity requirements, Section 508, or compliance-driven technology programs.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), PMI-ACP, SAFe, or similar certification.
