We are seeking a QA Testing Engineer to support automated and manual testing efforts for a federal Agile development team. The ideal candidate will have experience with test automation tools such as Selenium and will work closely with developers, DevOps engineers, and architects to ensure application quality across the web application, deployed in AWS environments.
What You Will Do
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium and other tools
- Execute functional, regression, and integration tests for React frontend and backend microservices
- Manual and automated testing of user journeys, scripts, and Stories and acceptance criteria, via interaction with the application.
- Test 508 compliance and usability
- Collaborate with developers to understand application features and testing requirements
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives
- Work with analysts to ensure User Stories include measurable and testable acceptance criteria
- Work with DevOps Engineers to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and Harness
- Validate API functionality and performance using tools like Postman or REST Assured
- Document test cases, results, and defects in a structured format
- Support static code analysis and security scanning processes
- Work with QA leads and senior engineers to improve test coverage and reliability
- Ensure traceability of tests to user stories and requirements
- Perform tests of non-functional requirements (secure, role-based access, performance, load)
What You Will Need
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of THREE (3) years of experience in QA or software testing
- Hands-on experience with Selenium or similar test automation frameworks
- Familiarity with Agile development practices and feature branch workflows
- Basic understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices
- Experience with Git and version control workflows
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
What Would Be Nice to Have
- Experience testing applications deployed in AWS (EKS, Lambda, API Gateway)
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Harness
- Exposure to security scanning tools (SonarQube, Checkmarx)
- Experience with containerized applications and Kubernetes
- Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner)
- Prior experience in federal or regulated environments
- Prior experience with financial systems
