Guidehouse is seeking a Senior Frontend Software Engineer with deep React expertise and strong leadership capabilities to join an Agile team building a secure, scalable enterprise application for a federal client. This role will lead frontend development efforts, mentor junior and mid-level engineers, and collaborate closely with architects and backend engineers.

What You Will Do

  • Lead design and development of responsive, accessible, and secure front-end applications using React 

  • Architect and create reusable UI components in React and enforce best practices across the frontend codebase 

  • Collaborate with backend engineers to define and consume RESTful APIs for microservices 

  • Guide and mentor junior and mid-level developers, conducting code reviews and technical coaching 

  • Translate wireframes into high-quality implementations. 

  • Ensure compliance with security standards, including RBAC and sensitive data handling 

  • Utilize automated testing and CI/CD practices in the DevSecOps pipeline 

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and lead sprint planning and technical discussions 

  • Troubleshoot complex frontend issues across browsers and devices 

  • Develop and test Responsive Design and mobile compatibility. 

  • Contribute to performance optimization and non-functional requirements 

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including architects, product owners, and QA teams 

What You Will Need

  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance 

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Minimum of EIGHT (8) years of professional experience in frontend development 

  • Expert-level proficiency in React, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3 

  • Proven experience leading frontend development teams or initiatives 

  • Strong understanding of RESTful API integration and microservices architecture 

  • Strong Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies (certification preferred) 

  • Strong experience with secure coding practices and frontend security standards 

  • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps workflows 

  • Strong communication and leadership skills 

  • Experience with using OpenAPI/Swagger documentation for integration with backend. 

What Would Be Nice to Have

  • Certified Scrum Developer (CSD) or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)

  • GIAC Secure Software Programmer (GSSP) – optional but relevant for secure coding Experience with AWS GovCloud services (e.g., API Gateway, EKS) 

  • Familiarity with financial systems or government-regulated environments 

  • Exposure to backend development (Java, Spring Boot) 

  • Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG, Section 508) 

  • Familiarity with design systems (Material Design, USWDS) 

  • Experience with automated testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library) 

  • Prior experience integrating frontend into a DevSecOps pipeline 

  • Experience with performance profiling and optimization tools 

The annual salary range for this position is $149,000.00-$248,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
