What You Will Do:
Our Financial Management professionals help our clients in Defense and National Security optimize all elements of their financial management structure by transforming business processes, enhancing operational efficiency, improving transparency and performance management, promoting change management, and complying with Federal laws and regulations.
The nature of our projects is extremely fluid and requires self-motivated individuals who are willing to develop solutions on their own or in a team of highly skilled professionals. Project members are provided the opportunity to interact with our client’s senior management, and to enhance their skills in technical competency, business development, client service, and people development. Our team provides specialized experience and knowledge in financial management, process analysis, risk management, and performance measurement to support project activities.
Specific initiatives and work products that this role supports include:
Identify opportunities to streamline financial tools, templates, and workflows, and apply technology enabled improvements that enhance quality, efficiency, and consistency across financial management activities.
Conduct research to investigate client problems and working collaboratively with a team to formulate and recommend solutions.
Conduct comprehensive assessments of current state processes, including Visio, process maps, and procedures, to identify pain points and improvement opportunities. Activities include collaborating with process owners, reviewing documentation, and recommending future state solutions that align with organizational goals.
Facilitate discussions with senior executives and synthesize their input into clear, actionable insights.
Develop strategic missions, visions, goals, objectives, and tracking metrics across Defense and National Security organizations to strengthen transparency, reporting quality, and decision making.
Establish and operationalize comprehensive governance models and communication plans that clearly define roles and responsibilities, set structured decision making and engagement cadences, and support seamless integration across stakeholders.
Collaborate with senior team members to embed financial management standards and quality controls into solution design, confirming alignment with federal financial policy, audit readiness requirements, and operational best practices.
Standardize and update organizational charts and report templates to streamline professional document creation and governance.
Lead implementation of transformative initiatives by partnering with team members and senior stakeholders to modernize financial management processes through innovative, user centered solutions.
Communicate the implementation of Microsoft 365 Power Platform tools and facilitate stakeholder engagement sessions to gather iterative feedback, confirm alignment, and support change adoption.
Support creation and execution of detailed project plans, confirming realistic timelines, clear communication, and ongoing risk and dependency monitoring to maintain project momentum.
Provide routine project updates to senior level executive clients, ensuring shared understanding of progress, decisions, risks, and next steps.
Deliver a visual identity by refreshing SharePoint sites, emblems, messaging guidelines, and Teams backgrounds with improved content layouts, navigation, and branding.
Craft executive ready messaging, briefings, talking points, and presentations.
Develop and deliver comprehensive, role based training materials (videos, job aids, and quick reference guides) that build capability, reinforce key behaviors, and enhance stakeholder buy-in throughout implementation
What You Will Need:
Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD "PUBLIC TRUST"; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred.
Bachelor’s degree
THREE (3) years related experience related to communications, change management, financial transformation, organizational transformation or strategy.
What Would Be Nice To Have:
Financial Management Experience
Lead client meetings and present recommendations to senior leadership; apply project management best practices; support change management efforts (stakeholder engagement, communications, readiness assessments); manage multiple workstreams concurrently; apply strong analytical, problem‑solving, and reporting skills; collaborate in team environments to deliver high‑impact work products; document and assess business processes and recommend improvements; and conduct research to develop data‑driven solutions to client challenges.
Professional certifications in Agile, Scrum, project management, or finance (e.g., CGFM, PMP, CSM, SAFe), or a strong foundational knowledge of these methodologies with a desire to pursue certification.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools (SharePoint, Teams, PowerPoint) and digital publishing platforms; strong attention to detail with experience creating and editing technical and non‑technical content and visual presentations; ability to quickly synthesize information, learn new skills, apply multiple solutions, and lead client‑facing discussions; knowledge of branding and organizational change best practices and applying them to effective communications and strategies; experience in change management or organizational design, preferably in financial or operational modernization efforts; and curiosity with the ability to rapidly develop and apply analytics, automation, and digital skills to meet client, stakeholder, and mission needs.
