Guidehouse is seeking a Frontend Software Engineer with React experience to join an Agile team building a secure, scalable enterprise application for a federal client. This role will develop the frontend UI, working with guidance from experienced engineers, and collaborating closely with architects and backend engineers.
What You Will Do
Lead design and development of responsive, accessible, and secure front-end applications using React
Develop reusable UI components using best practices and patterns, with guidance from Senior Engineers and Architect.
Collaborate with backend engineers to define and consume RESTful APIs for microservices
Participating in code reviews and technical coaching with senior engineers.
Work closely with UX/UI designers to translate wireframes into high-quality implementations
Ensure compliance with security standards, including RBAC and sensitive data handling
Utilize automated testing and CI/CD practices in the DevSecOps pipeline
Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, and technical discussions
Troubleshoot frontend issues across browsers and devices
Contribute to performance optimization and non-functional requirements, with guidance from Architect and Senior Engineers.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including Architects, Product Owners, and QA
What You Will Need
U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum TWO (2) years of professional experience in frontend development
Proficiency in React, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3
Prior experience on a frontend development team or initiative
Strong understanding of RESTful API integration and microservices architecture
Strong Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies (certification preferred)
Strong experience with secure coding practices and frontend security standards
Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps workflows
A strong desire to proactively learn and grow in your skills
Strong communication, including proactively seeking guidance from your team and technical leads when blocked, and the ability to explain your design to peers, and ability to demonstrate features to your team and client.
What Would Be Nice to Have
Experience with AWS GovCloud services (e.g., API Gateway, EKS)
Familiarity with financial systems or government-regulated environments
Exposure to backend development (Java, Spring Boot)
Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG, Section 508)
Familiarity with design systems (Material Design, USWDS)
Experience with automated testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library)
Prior experience integrating frontend code into a DevSecOps pipeline
Experience with performance profiling and optimization tools
