What You Will Do:
The Patient Financial Advisor will lead the procurement of reimbursement from patient's/resident's health plans for the delivery of skilled nursing care services, hospice care services and long term care services rendered by the client / Community Memorial Healthcare's skilled care and long term care facility, Continuing Care Center (CCC).
Functional Duties:
Analyze, monitor and trend skilled care and long term care financial date via assigned Work-queues, dashboards and reports.
Analyze, root cause and resolve billing errors, denials and discrepancies.
Process and submit insurance claims accurately and timely and monitor /secure account receivables that shall exceed $15 million + and follow up on unpaid claims.
Confers with senior professionals or directors on unusual matters or to contribute to or recommended solutions to complex issues.
Establish key elements of tactical and operational plans and strategies that directly impact results.
Create new processes, standards, or operational plans that have mid-to-long-term impact on results (3-5) years.
May participate in negotiations with other leaders regarding operational issues.
Develop workflows that lead to cash acceleration and claim adjudication.
Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility, manage finances, and oversee billing and patient fees.
Develop goals and objectives related to healthcare efficiency and quality, and ensure compliance with laws and regulations (e.g. HIPAA, CMS, NSA, EMTALA, etc.)
Develop relationships with staff, patients, and families to gather feedback and improve services.
Offer compassionate communication to ease financial stress and promote understanding.
Access patient financial situation to determine eligibility for and enrollment into assistance programs.
Provide clear cost estimates for procedures and services.
guide patients through payment options, insurance benefits, and financial assistance.
Educate patients about billing processes and advocate for fair financial outcomes.
Maintain accurate records of patient interactions and account activity.
What You Will Need:
Requires a University Degree and minimum 0-2 years of prior relevant experience in healthcare(Relevant experience may be substituted for formal education or advanced degree)
What Would Be Nice To Have:
Master Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration
Knowledge of State and Federal financial assistance programs.
