We are seeking an experienced Cyber Enterprise Architect – Associate Director with a strong background in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-level security solutions, particularly within federal government environments. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise across cybersecurity domains, including threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and security architecture. This role requires a strategic thinker and hands-on practitioner who can lead security initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity standards.
What You Will Do:
- Provide domain expertise and technical leadership for enterprise-wide cybersecurity architecture.
- Develop and maintain cybersecurity strategy support plans that analyze current environment posture and recommend improvements for a mixture of operating systems, modern devices, and end-of-life devices in a native and cloud architecture.
- Integrate ZTA in accordance with NIST Special Publication (SP) 800-207, DoD Zero Trust Reference Architecture and Zero Trust Capability Execution Roadmap, and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA) Zero Trust Maturity Model
- Ensure activities adhere to federal cybersecurity standards and requirements, including FISMA, and NIST Special Publications (especially SP 800-53, SP 800-137, SP 800-60, SP 800-53, SP 800-171 and SP 1800-39A).
- Provide recommendations for architectural governance and develop an architectural transition path to ensure solutions incorporate ZTA.
- Plan and lead major cybersecurity architecture assignments with comprehensive knowledge across key tasks.
- Evaluate performance results and recommend major changes affecting cybersecurity project growth and success.
- Interface with senior management on architectural decisions with critical impact on overall cybersecurity implementation.
- Make critical decisions regarding cybersecurity tool selection, design, and deployment.
What You Will Need:
- An ACTIVE and CURRENT SECRET federal security clearance.
- Bachelor’s Degree is required
- Minimum of TEN (10) years of relevant cybersecurity or IT security experience, OR a Master’s Degree AND EIGHT (8) years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of FIVE (5) years of prior relevant consulting experience supporting US Federal government clients.
- Demonstrated ability to influence a security by design mindset, driving a culture of collaboration, innovation, and best practices to be a ‘Force Multiplier’.
- Demonstrated ability to source and lead the formation and execution of successful partnerships between and across major stakeholders including technology partners and business end-users.
- Proven ability to collaborate with audiences with a wide range of technical knowledge and at different levels of an organization, from the C-Suite (CIO, CISO, CDO) to cyber engineer or cyber analyst.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- One or more of the following certifications:
- Certified Enterprise Architect (CEA) Black Belt Program,
- Information Systems Security Architecture Professional (ISSAP),
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or
- Cloud Architect Certification (e.g., Google Professional Cloud Architect, AWS Certified Solution Architect, or Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert)
