What You Will Do
Guidehouse is seeking an experienced leader to shape and execute the firm’s master data strategy and enterprise data governance model. In this role, you will define how data is owned, governed, and used across the enterprise, while leading the implementation of core governance capabilities—including Master Data Management and enterprise data governance platforms such as Microsoft Purview—to help position data as a strategic asset for the business.
Governance & Operating Model
Define and implement the enterprise data governance framework
Establish clear data ownership, stewardship, and decision rights
Define how data responsibilities are structured across business and IT
Ensure governance enables execution and business value—not bureaucracy
Master Data Management (MDM)
Define and lead the enterprise Master Data Management strategy and scope
Establish governance for core business domains (e.g., Client, Employee, Project, Financial structures)
You will also ensure:
Consistent definitions across systems
Data quality and reconciliation
Lifecycle management for master data
Partner with Data Engineering to implement MDM pipelines and data models
Partner with Business Domains to establish data ownership and stewardship
Outcome: “One consistent version of core business entities across reporting, applications, and AI.”
Data Governance Platform (Unity Catalog, Purview, Tooling)
Own implementation and adoption of enterprise data governance tooling (e.g., Microsoft Purview)
Ensure capabilities for:
Data catalog and discovery
Data lineage and traceability
Data classification and sensitivity management
Business glossary and definitions
Drive enterprise adoption of governance tools to enable: Transparency, Trust, Self-service data usage
This role will help drive a critical shift: governance tools will not simply exist—they will be embedded in workflows and actively used across the enterprise.
Business Data Ownership Enablement
Drive adoption of a business-owned data model
Partner with domain leaders to formalize ownership of:
Data
Data products
Master data domain
Ensure accountability for: Data quality, Definitions, Lifecycle management
Data Product Lifecycle
Define and operationalize the end-to-end data product lifecycle (Ingest → Consumption)
Align business and IT on ownership, delivery, and success measures
Ensure consistency across:
Data Engineering
Reporting
AI / Orchestration
PMO – Change (PM + Change Engine)
Serve as the project manager across execution of the Next-Gen Data State program
Drive change management, communications, and adoption across the organization
Act as central coordinator across:
Business domains
CIO AI & Data teams
Cloud Engineering, CISO and other IT functions
Policy, Compliance & Standards
Ensure adherence to enterprise data policies defined by Legal, Risk, and CISO
Partner with security and compliance teams to define controls where needed
Ensure governance supports:
Regulatory compliance
Responsible AI practices
Enterprise standards
How This Role Creates Impact
This role does not serve as the centralized owner of all data
This role does not directly build data pipelines, reports, or platforms
This role does not replace business accountability for data ownership and quality
Instead, this role creates enterprise impact by establishing accountability, enforcing standards, and driving adoption at scale.

What You Will Need:
Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of relevant experience, including global enterprise leadership, or 16+ years of relevant experience without a degree.
Experience in Cloud & Platform Transformation (GCP, AWS, SAP)
Strong background in data operating model design, business data ownership, and enterprise change initiatives
Demonstrated executive presence with the ability to align business and IT stakeholders and influence without direct authority
What Would Be Nice To Have:
Experience working within local government and federal government environments
Experience implementing data platforms and, specifically, data governance platforms (e.g., Purview, Collibra, etc.)
15+ years of experience in global enterprise leadership, data implementation, data governance, Master Data Management, or enterprise data transformation, with a proven track record of enterprise-level, system-oriented thinking
Experience with full stack custom development
Extensive experience with Global PowerBI Administration (and Power BI Row-Level Security)
Experience with Azure Security, Purview and enterprise security
Curiosity about emerging technologies and enthusiasm for AI-driven transformation
