What You Will Do:
We have a unique opportunity for the right experienced Healthcare Strategy Executive Consultant. They will be instrumental in leading innovative approaches for the largest health systems and providers to successfully progress these clients to a new healthcare model. They will deliver strategic vision, set the clients course for action and work closely with the client to successfully implement sustainable change. This leader will use his/her industry experience and executive strategic consulting experience to drive deployable enterprise strategy, service line plans, ambulatory strategy, partnership and new market entry strategies with the Health System and other provider clients that lead to tangible outcomes!
Part of delivering innovation and excellence to the client is continual acquisition and development of the smartest Guidehouse talent that is passionate about improving healthcare and capable of answering the most challenging and complex problems facing the healthcare enterprise. You will be part of creating and maintaining Guidheouse's strategic advisory solutions methodology. You will champion holistic integrated strategy programs that work across the healthcare continuum to get the performance and results that continuum demands.
As an executive and leader in the practice you will be responsible for driving and confirming new and expanding current client projects. Client relationship management and development will be critical to your success as you deliver value to the client and revenue to Guidehouse within the health provider client base. He/she will need to be health provider strategy expert working extensively with the C suite to deliver strategic advisory solutions to: health systems, AMCs, For-profit, not- for- profit, ACOs and their partners in the continuum of care with a reputation of excellence!
This position:
- As a health provider strategist and practice builder you will build strategic plans that deliver patient and financial outcomes across the healthcare continuum. You assess and build client capabilities with a disciplined, holistic, phased approach that guides the client from the top down. Keen to the internal and external environment.
- As a healthcare expert you deliver intuitive and creative input while taking into account and helping to leverage the values of the internal culture and the continual external characteristics of the market and regulations. He/she then crafts a strategic plan that involves the data collection, goal setting, expectation definition and statement of direction for a health system, ACO, large IDN or Academic Hospital.
- You collect a meaningful and broad data base, creatively brings differentiation, defines gaps, assesses core competencies, and identifies critical resources and skills in the processes
- You will leverage deep industry expertise in business strategy (inclusive of M/A, financial, AMC, ACO, IT, Corporate Strategy) able to craft a compelling value proposition to executive clients and ensuring the client is satisfied with deliverables.
- Lead with a disciplined account penetration strategy that delivers and strengthens relationships with executive decision makers in the health provider client’s strategy, organization leaders, financial leaders and C-suite executives
- Use your strong client management /relationships to influence client leaders. Leverage a strong healthcare provider network with emphasis on driving strategy across the enterprise that enable our clients to manage their businesses through reform.
- Deliver brilliant, action-oriented, results -oriented, "take charge" resource capable of developing a strong business case for client action and the skills to bring those to close.
- Proactive business leader that creatively works with partners, clients and resources at Gudehouse to find new solutions that create repeatable value and revenue stream to the practice
What You Will Need:
- Minimum of 5 years in a Healthcare Business Strategy consulting at the executive level of Healthcare organizations and has proven they can lead complex, innovative strategy efforts for healthcare clients (provider) with a proven track within scope, timeline and budget. Capable leader able to lead client and consulting teams to superior strategy deliverables.
- 15+ yrs. experience with 10+ yrs. of progressive leadership experience in a health system(s) or Management Consulting organization with emphasis on Strategic Thinking and Strategic Planning with specialization in: enterprise strategy, IT, ambulatory strategy, M&A, service line strategy, asset alignment and/or organizational change that optimizes provider outcomes
- Deep demonstrable understanding of healthcare ecosystem and how to lead, guide and/or support the entities through the process to a successful conclusion
- Successful experiences in reorganizing and integrating services and functions to perform with enhanced customer experience. (5 + yrs.)
- Proven ability to develop strategic structures that improve quality and materially change sustainable outcomes; Project experience in improving customer experience by altering vertically organized care delivery, optimization of horizontal work processes and technology tools to enable the new organization;
- Demonstrated success at materially impacting the financial results through influence (HEAVY preference seen in consulting sales) and the generation of strategy consulting engagements at larger Health Providers - not for profit, for profit and academic clients YOY.
- Action-oriented, results -oriented, "take charge" attitude, capable of developing a strong business case for client action and the skills to bring those to close.
- Requires ability to negotiate and compromise, and ability to communicate and influence senior executive leadership
- Strong executive presence and professional image and presentation (advanced us Microsoft tools)
- A team player; a highly collaborative, team-oriented process.
- Requires a Bachelor's Degree from accredited school (master's degree preferred)
- Able to travel at least 3 nights per week
What Be Nice to Have:
- Outstanding project management skills in monitoring billing of hours, training, development, and supervision.
- Healthcare consulting or other practice leadership inclusive of practice resources, capabilities and growth with P&L kind of responsibilities (3+ yrs.).
- Nationally, recognized and known leader in Healthcare Strategy
- Proven track record of successful new business generation, and demonstrable ability (or commercial potential) to sell, deliver and manage highly visible engagements demonstrated by year over year credited sales generation of $10M+
- Presence and credibility to successfully collaborate and work with Guidehouse’s own highly regarded business development team.
- Desire to collaborate with other related Guidehouse practices as well as across the entire global firm to cross-sell relevant products and services, in addition to being a growth oriented, vertical thinker.
- Intellectually adept with superior negotiation and influencing skills and ability to relate to range of senior level internal and external stakeholders.
- High level of business acumen and commercial awareness.
- Extremely driven, energetic, and able to thrive in a results-oriented, entrepreneurial, analytical environment.
- Preference will be given to candidates living near a Guidehouse office
