The Client is looking for an experienced Oracle database administrator to help migrate and support multiple very large Oracle databased from on-premises to Azure Cloud.  In this role, you will also be responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance all Oracle databases running on Linux platform.  Your expertise will ensure the optimal performance, availability, integrity, and security of our critical data infrastructure.  You will be required to work closely internal groups, external clients, and application developers.

What You Will Do:

  • Demonstrate advanced skills in Oracle utilities AWR, ASH, ADDM and OSWatcher; strong knowledge of OEM management and administration; proficient in problem diagnosis, shell scripting, performance monitoring and tuning and database backup and recovery.

  • Experienced with DMS (Database Migration Services) tools to migrate Oracle databases from On-premises to Cloud.

  • Configure, administer, and implement complex database infrastructures, multiple replication technologies, multi-directional flows, and other high availability architectural topologies. Must have strong SME experience in both Golden Gate and Oracle Data Guard.

  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics and allocate database resources to achieve optimum database performance.

  • Perform fail-over testing, patching, upgrades and demonstrate knowledge of storage, encryption, security, and Azure cloud.

  • Participate in 24x7 on call support for production databases.

  • Test, validate and implement performance and resource optimization improvements in consultation with Azure Infrastructure Operation team.

  • Working knowledge of backup and recovery tools for Oracle databases, specifically within Azure.

  • Perform root cause analysis of production-related database issues.


What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent is preferred.

  • 5+ years Oracle Database Administration experience with administering and supporting multiple Oracle databases on Windows/UNIX/Linux platform.

  • Strong familiarity with implementation of Oracle in the AZURE cloud.

  • Experience with ​Oracle 19c, ASM, Grid Infrastructure, Golden Gate, Data Guard, RMAN, OSWatcher, Azure Data Studio, SQLPlus, OEM, AWR, ASH, ADDM, SQL

  • Experience in managing, tuning, monitoring, and securing Oracle databases.

  • 2-3 year experience working in Azure is highly preferred.

  • 3 year experience with conducting performance tuning, backup/recovery, scalability/capacity planning, and UNIX shell scripting

  • Agile values & principles

  • US Citizenship and Ability to obtain Public trust clearance.


What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Azure certifications such as AZ-300, AZ-301, or AZ-303 are a plus.

  • Master's degree in technology is a plus.

  • Microsoft security certifications are a plus.

  • Architecture level experience with other major public cloud providers is beneficial.

  • Familiarity with FISMA HIGH, FedRAMP HIGH, and/or Zero Trust Architecture is strongly preferred.

The annual salary range for this position is $77,000.00-$129,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
