What You Will Do:

Guidehouse is looking for a content management lead to help our Proposal Development Center (PDC) establish and maintain a library of best-in-class content that can be used across the firm. We are implementing Loopio RFP response software to modernize our ability to respond to proposals for government and commercial clients. This position will be responsible for working with leadership in the PDC and sales leaders in the company to identify, collect, and refresh re-usable content to improve proposal quality and proposal / sales / SME team productivity, so that they spend less time searching for content and more time customizing it for the opportunity at hand. You will need the ability to identify frequently asked questions and have the tenacity to find answers within a complex, growing, worldwide organization.  The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver with a can-do attitude.

The successful candidate should be both a skilled writer who can distinguish effective proposal writing from word salad, and someone who adapts easily to new technology and processes.

  • Work collaboratively with the PDC knowledge management director to establish a content library for public and private sector proposal content, working with team managers and directors to implement a taxonomy and a plan for populating the library with existing and new content.

  • Help establish a process for technical SMEs from our consulting segments and operational SMEs from internal functions (finance, legal, human capital, information technology, contracts, etc.) to contribute, review and update content.

  • Collaborate with our proposal team directors and sales team leaders to identify and revise standard content that can be re-used (such as descriptions of standard company processes or service offerings).

  • Contribute to content collection and migration by extracting segments of past proposal material that can be used in future proposals.

  • Manage periodic content refresh cycles so that information remains accurate.

  • Collaborate with proposal writing/editing team to edit content to meet Guidehouse guidelines for consistency of voice, branding, and style.

  • Help tag content for ease of reuse, which may require identifying and applying alternate keywords.

  • Advise proposal teams with guidance, insights, and recommendations on how to leverage content and improve responses for active proposals.

  • Serves as the proposal software (Loopio) administrator and SME responsible for technical aspects of the content management database, and internal support for user issues and training on system functionality

  • Onboard and train new users, prepare a user guide, and host regular training sessions over Microsoft Teams

  • Assist with complex searches, uploads, reports, or other requests as needed.

  • Work occasional evenings or weekends as required to meet proposal deadlines.

  • Proofread and fact check content prior to uploading to the content management system.

  • Collaborate with desktop publishing team so that content in the proposal system is easily exported into company-branded templates.

  • Develop processes to retain proposal documentation in accordance with company and department procedures.

  • Stay current on industry best practices around proposal content management, including how AI is likely to change proposal writing, so we can adapt accordingly.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university plus 6+ years of professional experience OR 10+ years of professional experience in lieu of degree.

  • Experience in professional services proposal writing. You should be familiar enough with proposals to understand the types of questions that customers ask (and why), as well as how they can or should be answered.

  • Technically proficient in at least one RFP database technology (such as Loopio or RFPio/Responsive), as well as Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint, and Dynamics preferred

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, including the ability to marshal resources, communicate, and manage timelines

  • Superior verbal, writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a high attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work. We need to make sure database content is well-written without typos or grammatical errors.

  • The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver with a can-do attitude. You will have to seek answers without clear guides to where to find the answers.

  • Must be a US citizen due to the nature of many of our US government proposals.

  • Ability to work outside normal work hours (i.e., nights, weekends, and/or holidays when required).

What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Experience building a content library using Loopio for at least one company will be a contributing factor to the success of this project.

  • Experience with proposal content systems that also include searchable graphics and images highly desirable.

  • Location near the Tysons headquarters office and available to come in as needed for meetings and working sessions is strongly preferred. Travel is not budgeted for this position.

The annual salary range for this position is $100,200.00-$150,200.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
