What You Will Do:
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst for a major government IT modernization program. This high performing team member will help clients use various technology offerings and/or industry specifi c solutions to solve our client’s business problems in the areas of fi nance, operations, human capital, customer, and governance, risk and compliance. The senior consultant will manage day-to-day operations, provide functional expertise, and translate business requirements and needs to the program team.
This is a high-visibility, demanding project. The project team is highly collaborative, agile, and fast-paced. The large project team is made up of experienced, dedicated, hard-working, fun-loving professionals who are respectful, supportive, and appreciative of each other.
Our Business Analyst:
- Oversees daily operations & manages design, development, deployment, operations and maintenance (O&M), of federal budget and execution processes.
- Participates in the improvement of financial and budgetary business processes.
- Serves as the primary point of contact to the client for the scope, performance and execution of the SOW tasks.
- Provides clear, routine and effective communication between project and client teams
- Critically reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs, ultimately producing clear proposals, documentation, and/or deliverables.
- Facilitates discussions with the right stakeholders to clarify the scope.
- Works closely with product owners and managers to convert business use cases into actionable tasks for the development team.
- Writes user stories and ensures stories and tasks are complete prior to sprint planning.
- Applies analysis of business systems and software solutions to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of work processes for both current and future business needs.
- Leads and executes efforts to produce documentation related to system information architecture and processes which may include: technical requirements, functional specifications, data flow diagrams, high-level test cases, requirements traceability matrices, flow charts, wireframes/mockups, user stories, and use case documentation.
- Conducts presentations and communicates product features to both technical and non-technical communities and aids in the coordination and communication of cross-team initiatives.
- Coordinates with the developers and technical team with regards to associated applications technical service ticket management and fix and enhancement requirements
- Utilizes project management best practices to ensure Business and IT requirements are met and clearly communicates deliverables to team and provides clear, frequent, and effective communication to key stakeholders which includes:
- Creates/delivers executive reporting
- Performs dedicated issue/risk/change management and solutioning
- Builds strong working relationships and manages and resolves client and team challenges.
- Contributes to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with team members.
- Proactively seeks guidance, clarification and feedback and provides guidance, clarification and feedback to less-experienced staff.
What You Will Need:
- US Citizenship or Authorization to work within US. Ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum THREE (3) years of experience as a Business Analyst working on agile software development projects.
- Understanding of the agile SDLC.
- General understanding of web technologies.
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Professional Suite (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
- Strong experience with modeling software such as Visio, Draw.io, or equivalent.
- Experience working on, coordinating, and communicating on cross-team initiatives.
- Experience with integration and customization of COTS products.
- Familiar with information technology architecture, governance, and data exchange.
- Proficient with presentation and web communication tools.
- Ability to communicate complex technical problems to a non-technical audience.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Customer service oriented.
- Passion and drive for learning new technologies and practices.
- Ability to maintain a big-picture vision while defining very detailed requirements.
- Adaptable, dependable, and independent.
- General understanding of DevOps culture and tools.
- Proficient with requirements-gathering tools.
- Proficient with managing and updating Wiki documentation.
What Would Be Nice To Have:
- Experience with Appian, JIRA.
- Possesses federal budget knowledge related to budget formulation, planning and execution.
- Ability to review and analyze accounting transactions in order support the review of system bugs and potential fixes.
