What You Will Do:
We are seeking an Automated Cell Technologist to supportongoingresearchactivities which involves, including compound management,submittingservice and maintenance requests,reporting usage and inventory ofDrug Enforcement Administration controlled substances,maintainingviableactive and storedcell lines, andperforming quality assurance (QA)/quality control(QC)oftheNational Center for Advancing TranslationalSciences'(NCATS)chemical inventory. This full-time, on-site position is based inRockville, Maryland.
Advance the science in the laboratory through new procedures and discoveries.
Train staff on the proper usage of laboratory instruments and equipment.
Work with staff to confirm assay results and evaluate new techniques and instruments; search literature; propose, design and testalternative assays for difficult screening targets; confirm assay results; develop secondary assays.
Review, edit,andas needed, write first drafts of papers,posters,and manuscripts.
Produce research reports and regularly communicate results to staff and collaborators.
Design and conduct experiments and studies requiring the application of a broad professional knowledge of scientific theories and principles.
Advancesciencethrough proposing and investigating new target projects for initiation based on novelty and relevance to human health.
Review scientific data todetermineif a research program can be developed around an idea or data package.
Manage scientific equipment and resources (e.g.reagents, stocks of frozen sells, animal samples) including acquisition,documentationand storage.
Writepapers and abstracts detailing research efforts and results for publication in peer-reviewed journals, prepare PowerPointpresentationsasappropriate, give posters and presentations detailing work at regional and national scientific meetings.
Overseea state-of-the-artcore facility serving the NIH community; review associated budget.
What You Will Need:
Master’s degree in biology
At leastTEN (10)years ofhands-on laboratory experience.
Demonstrated experiencedeveloping ormaintainingcelllineswhich may include primary or 3D cultures.
Experience in developing and/or designingresearchstudies.
Proven ability to document findings as shown throughitems such as peer reviewed publications, conference presentations/posters, orsimilaractivities.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD "public trust"; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their public trust prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an active public trust or suitability are preferred
What Would Be Nice To Have:
ProficientusingMicrosoft OfficeSuite.
Knowledge of DEAControlled Substance usage and inventoryreporting requirements is beneficial.
Strong oral and verbal communication skills.
