What You Will Do:
We are currently searching foraScientific Program Managertocollaborate withdata scientistswithin the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) byengaging in high content screening experimentsby advising on optimal equipment, control layout and performance, and assayconditions required to generate data that is reproducible.  The person selected for this position willensure data analysis pipelines and algorithms arereproducible and applicable to a wide range of scientific projects. Monitor andperform critical maintenance of preclinical laboratory equipment to ensure properoperation and prevent functional failure.This is a full-time, on-site opportunity inRockville,MD.

  • Perform study design, management, decision making, workgroup material reviews,and presentations.

  • Collaborate with staff on the planning, implementation, coordination and evaluation of programs and initiatives in the assignedspecialty area of research. 

  • Spearhead compilation,analysisand organization of scientific, program and related information; and develop and/or lead data analysis/dyadicdata analysis. 

  • Provide scientific evaluation and analysis tofacilitatemanagement ofprograms related to bioinformatics and big data. 

  • Monitor automated robotic systems including coordinating use,maintainingand calibrating hardware,and preparing screening libraries.

  • Identifyoperational and technical problems; work with staff toidentifya recommended action plan and solutions.

  • Perform research in support of strategic planning for the program's research programs and coordinate and design activities related to thedevelopment,approvalsandlaunchingof new research funding concepts.

  • Perform scientific and administrative reviews and analyses of applications/proposals from a programmatic viewpoint.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive studies of performance measures to evaluate program productivity, develop metrics andmilestones to assess progress of the program.

  • Provide research management and analytic support for a range of major projects, including development of research protocols, coordination of large scientific initiatives, designing and developing survey data collection instruments, developing computerizedsystems for data collection,reviewingand editing analytic databases.

  • Provide scientific and management support to staff on planning and implementation of projects, including setting priorities, managingassigned tasks, monitoring project status, reviewing deliverables, and providing status updates.

  • Coordinate and document projects from beginning to completion,monitorandreportcompletionand fundingstatus, resultsachieved andprovide progress reports.

  • Review and summarize materials and data,gather and coordinate information for review,conduct data entry and file maintenance, andeditand/or prepare text,dataand charts.

  • Plan, organize,andparticipatein technical meetings and consultationsconvenedwithdiverse experts to advance key issues in scientificresearch.

  • Attend review, scientific,in-houseand various other meetings; provide minutes/reports and self-directed analysis when requested.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational problems related to clinical research protocols.

  • Track implementation of theproject; review progress in relation to the plan; work with theprojectteam to revise the plan as needed;develop andmaintaina project-tracking document.

  • Meet withupper-levelmanagement on a regular basis to provide oral reports on the status of on-going projects and to receive newassignments.


What You Will Need:

  • Master's degree in molecular biologyor related field.

  • At leastFOUR(4)years ofprogram managementexperience.

  • Compound and sample managementexpertiseto enablehigh-throughputscreening applications.

  • Experience witha varietyof project management techniques such as Agile.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust. Candidates must receive approved adjudication of their Public Trust prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an active Public Trust or existing suitability are preferred.

  • PhD preferred

  • Demonstratedexpertisewith Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

The annual salary range for this position is $85,000.00-$141,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
