What You Will Do:

Guidehouse is seeking a Financial Management Senior Consultant to support a US Air Force client in transforming their Real Property business processes, improving efficiency of operations, evaluating, and improving internal controls, strengthening policies and controls, increasing transparency and performance management, and complying with Federal laws and regulations. The candidate should have consulting experience working with clients to coordinate the development and resolution of corrective action plans related to notice of findings and recommendations issued by an Independent Public Accountant. Experience with designing and implementing technical solutions to improve financial management activities within the Real Property space, performing financial analysis using large data sets, maintaining responsibility for completion and accuracy of work products, conduct relevant research, data analytics, and creation of reports. Candidate must be able to expand consulting skills and professional development through training courses, mentoring, and daily interaction with clients.

What You Will Need:

  • Ability to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD Public Trust

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • THREE (3) years in financial/accounting operations, internal controls, audit remediation, or audit.


What Would Be Nice To Have:

Experience may include conducting supporting Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) efforts and/or supporting Audit remediation efforts in the field of Real Property or PP&E. Experience with internal control assessments, risk assessments, existence and completeness testing, and verification and validation (V&V) of corrective action plans (CAPs).

Strong consulting skills, including identifying and addressing client needs, building relationships, and driving initiatives forward to completion. Advanced Microsoft Excel experience cleaning and organizing large data sets, performing data reconciliation, and utilizing Pivot Tables.

Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with demonstrated ability to translate technical information to a non-technical audience at all levels of the DoD organization. Strong attention to detail, thoroughness, and quality. Knowledge of Statements of Federal Financial Accounting Standards 6, 50, 56, and Financial Management Regulation Volume 4, Chapter 24 is a plus.
