What You Will Do:
The project team is responsible for helping the DOD client reach audit readiness goals by fiscal year 2027. The enterprise-wide audit remediation project manager will work with other project teams to document the financial and operational processes which contribute to the annual financial report and the associated independent audit. The role will manage a team of 5-7 assigning, supporting and managing task progress and will coordinate with 3-4 peer managers, managing similar teams, to support the project objectives. Will support staff development, goal planning, and performance. In addition to project and management responsibilities, will engage in firm initiatives, business development, activities and networks to facilitate knowledge integration for the team.
The teams will helps clients optimize all the internal controls throughout all elements of their organization, including financial reporting, accounting, logistics, property management, civilian pay, and procurement. Supports audit remediation activities, such as developing/updating process documentation, Standard Operating Procedures, and developing/implementing corrective action plans to address findings. Performs recurring testing, such as testing internal controls, designing and executing Managers Internal Controls Programs (A-123). Provides targeted area support based on Component (e.g., performing root cause analysis for journal vouchers and FBWT variances, conducting PP&E audit remediation, etc.).
The teams will apply federal accounting, financial management, and audit knowledge/expertise when assisting with the development of solutions and providing recommendations to client.
What You Will Need:
An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance.
Bachelor's Degree.
THREE (3) years of management experience of three or more staff within DOD OR Federal financial management space.
TWO (2) years of Department of Defense experience in accounting, auditing, audit remediation, internal controls or other Federal.
Experience interacting with DOD senior officials.
Ability to be onsite and client site full time (5-days week).

Ability to gather staff perspectives and reorganize in clear, concise and professional written and verbal communications to clients.
Applying the concepts used in financial reporting as promulgated by the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAB).
Performing financial statement audits, audit readiness services or audit remediation and sustainment services within DoD or another Federal Government agency or department.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP).
