What You Will Do:

Your work will focus on strategy, business, and technology transformation engagements supporting commercial energy, power and utilities, and public sector clients in the Netherlands and internationally, as they navigate the transition to net zero and a sustainable and resilient future. Our team members manage their own tasks and schedules while conducting high quality client work. Our consultants must show considerable business acumen and an acute focus on maximizing client value and building relationships over time.

In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Working with regional and international leadership on business development activities to grow the energy providers practice in the Netherlands – including preparing and delivering pitches, responding to client queries, RFP support and delivery, anticipating client needs and identifying options and solutions for future work;
  • Building effective relationships with clients and potential clients in the sector;
  • Engaging with existing and potential clients to understand their key challenges and needs;
  • Defining a compelling value proposition for projects aligned with meeting or exceeding the clients needs;
  • Acting as a thought partner and SME to client;
  • Leading a team of consultants with differing levels of skills, and experience a team in both day to day situations and on a matrix basis to enable collective problem-solving;
  • All aspects of engagement management and resource management for large, complex projects;
  • Business modelling and analysis; strong numerical reasoning and quantitative skills;
  • Hypothesizing solutions frameworks using modern thinking and insights;
  • Synthesizing multiple inputs into coherent insights across a variety of formats; slide decks, written narrative, playbooks, dashboards and toolkits;
  • Mentoring and coaching local junior staff to enable them to perform at their best and grow their knowledge through sharing of expertise


What You Will Need:

  • 7+ years of experience in strategy or management consulting with the ability to demonstrate sufficient depth and breadth of consulting expertise through multiple project lifecycles
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience positioning and delivering business and / or technology transformation engagements in multiple project lifecycles
  • Business case or proposal writing experience including budget development and managing proposal timeline with multiple subject matter experts supplying input
  • Experience in Energy consulting, and exposure to CAPEX/investment decisions
  • Solid verbal communication and narrative development skills, with the ability to summarise and convey key insights from analyses to senior audiences
  • A critical thinker with a strong eye for detail and creative in problem solving
  • A team-player who is willing and can work effectively in diverse teams and collaborate with colleagues at all levels
  • Willingness to travel internationally where necessary
  • Ability to work fluently in English (written and spoken), including a track record in the delivery of presentations and proposal materials to English-speaking clients.


What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • MBA or other Master’s degree in Management, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Business is preferred
  • Experience in H2 or Offshore Wind PMO consulting
  • A demonstrable professional network in consulting including client side stakeholder networks, and peer networks within the management or strategy consulting industry
  • Ability to work fluently in Dutch (written and spoken), including a track record in the delivery of presentations and proposal materials to English-speaking clients.
