Welcome to Guidehouse’s Europe and Middle East (EME) public sector (PS) team within our global Energy, Sustainability and Infrastructure segment (ES&I). With more than 700 consultants ES&I is the largest energy and sustainability consulting team worldwide. While in ES&I we also collaborate with utilities and energy companies, large corporations, product manufacturers, and investors to help them thrive in a rapidly changing energy environment, our PS team focuses on governments like the European Commission and the German government, where we run many high-level and truly impactful projects in parallel, that provide the backbone for making our society climate neutral as soon as possible. We are looking for a Consultant to join our International team, to be based in our Utrecht office.
What You Will Do:
Become part of our team to work on projects to accelerate the green energy transition nationally and globally. You will mostly work on projects for public institutions on national, EU, and international level. Our projects tackle a wide variety of critical aspects of the energy transition such as policies related to decarbonization in industry and transport, renewable energy integration and market design, sustainable land use and the ramp up of the hydrogen value chain.
Under guidance and together with our team, you will contribute to successful project implementation by supporting structured policy analysis, synthesize data into clear analyses and provide fact-based recommendations and solutions for drafting reports and presentations. You will perform research, engage with internal and external stakeholders, prepare client deliverables, and present findings to the project team and clients.
Support the development of client proposals and other business development activities.
Build good relationships with the wider Guidehouse team, establish client and industry networks, and uphold Guidehouse’s values of respect, integrity, innovation, stewardship and excellence and support our culture of inclusion & diversity.
What You Will Need:
Master’s degree or similar relevant academic background in political sciences with significant focus on energy, economics or (energy/environmental) engineering.
Work experience (0-3 years) in consultancy and/or the energy sector (public institutions, consultancy, industry, utilities)
Strong knowledge of policies and/or experience of relevant advanced energy technologies and energy market trends including decarbonization of industry and transport, renewable energies, hydrogen, energy storage, and sustainable land use
English language skills are a must (written and spoken). Other languages (e.g. Dutch, German, French) are a bonus.
Willingness to travel on occasion.

Proven extracurricular activities and/or international experience, preferably with relevant internship or some related work experience.
