What You Will Do:

In this Data Stewardship & Governance Senior Consultant role, you will help shape how data is managed and protected across the agency. You will coordinate with bureau-specific and domain-focused governance groups, including those working on AI, to build alignment and drive consistency. Your work will involve configuring rules and standards in an enterprise data catalog, designing the logic behind automated quality checks, and integrating governance directly into data platforms. You will partner with data stewards and technical teams to turn governance principles into real-world practices that improve how we use, share, and safeguard data every day. This is your chance to make a lasting impact, strengthen the client’s data culture, and help the agency evolve and excel.

What You Will Need:

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • THREE (3) or more years of experience in data governance, data management, or data stewardship including at least ONE (1) or more years of experience supporting federal government clients

  • Experience using data cataloging tools and defining associated metadata and documentation standards, such as Alation, Purview, Unity Catalog or equivalent 


What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Data Management certification from an industry-recognized standards organization (e.g., DAMA CDMP, CIMP)

  • Working knowledge of federal requirements impacting data, such as the Federal Data Strategy, the Evidence Act, and the OPEN Government Data Act

  • Ability to lead data governance working groups and facilitate stakeholders across multiple organizational units

  • Experience configuring governance rules within a data catalog platform (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica)

  • Experience with agile methodologies for governance implementation

  • Strong change-management skills with a track record of iteratively maturing governance programs

  • Experience briefing senior government leadership and translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences

  • Work on an agile project team within a project management tool like Jira or Azure DevOps.

  • At least one demonstrated experience standing up or supporting formal governance bodies (e.g., committees, working groups, or advisory boards)

The annual salary range for this position is $98,000.00-$163,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
