What You Will Do
As a Instructional Design and Facilitation Senior Consultant, you will provide instructional design, facilitation, and training support for an emergency management client. Our consulting professionals help our clients identify, evaluate, and solve some of their most complex challenges, assisting them in achieving their strategic goals and objectives to fulfill their mission and comply with Federal laws and regulations. The candidate must be adaptable and able to navigate teams through complex organizational dynamics, while recognizing client needs and challenges as they arise. Individuals will engage in a diverse set of project-specific tasks covering a broad set of human capital, instructional design, and facilitation capabilities.
Duties will include:
- Leading a team of 2-4 consultants, establishing project goals, timelines, and metrics, and interacting with senior client leaders
- Leading training needs assessments, instructional design, and training delivery
- Leading current state analyses and gap analysis
- Contributing to the development of reports and presentations summarizing the outputs of quantitative and qualitative assessments and analyses
- Leading evaluation of training using industry standard approaches such as the Kirkpatrick training evaluation method
- Planning for and directing team members to prepare for internal and external stakeholder discussions
- Executing project tasks/outputs under the direction of a Project Manager
- Leading the development comprehensive plans to implement program goals, meet requirements, and keep resources on track
- Possessing a critical thinking mindset to identify and solve problems independently and with fellow team members
- Designing meeting strategies to achieve client goals and facilitate group decision-making around complex policy concepts
- Delivering quality content for a variety of audiences comfortably and confidently
- Thinking strategically, analyzing complex issues, and providing creative solutions to clients
- Developing strong client relationships and working collaboratively in a team environment
- Prioritizing and completing tasks across a variety of tasks simultaneously
What You Will Need
- US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust
- 5+ years of relevant experience (Instructional Design, Education, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, adult learning methods, or other related field)
- Experience with meeting facilitation, workshop design, and/or instructional design
What Would Be Nice to Have
- Experience in federal consulting
- Understanding of federal training policies and procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications
- Direct experience or familiarity with FEMA, emergency management, or DHS
