What You Will Do:
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Configuration Managerto support Navy acquisition programs throughout the full system lifecycle—from program inception through deployment, sustainment, and disposal. This role is responsible for developing and executing configuration management (CM) strategies, maintaining baselines, managing change control processes, and ensuring compliance with CM standards and best practices. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Navy acquisition programs, strong technical acumen, and the ability to lead CM activities across hardware and software domains at an enterprise level.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain CM plans, procedures, and documentation templates.
Establish and manage CM baselines (functional, allocated, and product).
Lead or support Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), and Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs).
Collaborate with In-Service Engineering Agents to manage product baselines.
Provide lifecycle CM support across acquisition phases, including documentation control and change tracking.
Maintain configuration changes and ensure timely production and delivery of hardware and software systems.
Work with project and development teams to maintain change processes and software baseline schemes.
Analyze complex technical data to inform CM system modifications and process improvements.
Develop SOPs and training materials to support CM processes.
Conduct trade studies and recommend CM/PLM tools as needed.
Utilize CM tools such as CMPro, Siemens Teamcenter, and ServiceNow.
Provide timely and accurate CM status reports to program leadership.
Use Microsoft Teams and Office Suite for collaboration and documentation.
Minimum Qualifications:
An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance.
Bachelor’s degree.
TEN (10) or more years of relevant experience in configuration management and product lifecycle management.
Experience with CCBs, ECPs, and CM audits.
Familiarity with CM/PLM tools (e.g., CMPro, Siemens Teamcenter, ServiceNow).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting Navy shipbuilding or acquisition programs.
Master's degree
Fifteen (15) or more years of relevant experience in configuration management.
Experience developing system and subsystem baseline artifacts for complex projects.
Familiarity with DoD acquisition and systems engineering lifecycle frameworks.
CMII, ASEP, PMP, or ITIL certification.
Strong leadership, communication, and technical writing skills.
Willingness to travel occasionally within the U.S. (approx. one week every 2–3 months).
