What You Will Do:
As a legal professional in Guidehouse’s Financial Management (FM) practice supporting Department of Justice Asset Forfeiture clients, you will bring a vast range of experiences across financial management and financial policy to lead initiatives that transform core financial management functions and operations. As a Policy and Law SME, you’ll help our clients across the Department of Justice:
Analyze and support development of policies, procedures, and guidance
Research federal, state, and local regulations, and emerging issues affecting the asset forfeiture program
Support program planning, project tracking, and brief preparation for internal stakeholders and leadership
Monitor legislative and regulatory activity, identify potential impacts, and help translate findings into actionable policy options
Analyze and support FOIA matters by reviewing responsive records, identifying legal and policy issues, and drafting proposed responses
You will not be responsible for providing legal advice or representation and operate under Government counsel direction
What You Will Need:
Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Public Trust security clearance; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of clearance prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an ACTIVE "PUBLIC TRUST" or higher-level clearance are preferred.
Juris Doctor (bar membership is preferred but not required).
TEN (10) or more years’ experience supporting Federal programs with legal, legislative, or policy analysis.
What Would Be Nice To Have:
Strong leadership, communication, and project management capabilities; ability to synthesize complex information and deliver high-impact solutions in fast-paced environments.
Currently licensed as an attorney, in active (or equivalent) status and in good standing, with the bar of a U.S. state, territory, or commonwealth.
Demonstrated experience supporting FOIA processes within a federal environment.
Experience analyzing statutes, regulations, and policy guidance affecting financial or law-enforcement programs preferred.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills; basic proficiency in Excel, data analysis, and quantitative reasoning; ability to collaborate effectively and communicate clearly; exposure to Python, SQL, or data visualization tools; internship or academic project experience in federal financial management or analytics; interest in automation (RPA), AI, or data engineering concepts; and familiarity with USSGL, GTAS, or federal accounting principles.
